HOW TO GET INVOLVED
Princes Trust Partnership
We are really proud to have formed a partnership with the Prince’s Trust, the Prince’s Trust are a charity who help young people aged 18-30 into employment.
We are excited to work with the Prince’s Trust to help try and support a large number of young people to become work ready.
Our programmes prepare you for applying to any of the following roles within our Frontline operations Teams (including Patient Transport Services) and our Clinical Coordination Centre’s (NHS 111 and 999 call centres).
- Apprentice Emergency Care Assistant
- Ambulance Care Assistant
- Emergency Care Assistant
- NHS 111 Health Advisor
- Emergency Operations Centre 999 Call Taker
If you are aged between 18 – 30 and perhaps still need to achieve your GCSE’s, driving licence or C1 then the Prince’s Trust will be able to help you with this – we can put you in contact with the Prince’s Trust directly and offer you the help and support required to secure a role with us. The Young Ambulance Citizens Programme
Fancy a career working in the emergency services and in particular with the ambulance service? Your School or College can arrange participation in our young Ambulance Citizens Programme so that you can get a taste of ‘a day in the life’ within our Ambulance Service.
Here is what it entails:
Our Enhanced Simulation Suite in Newbury, Berkshire is a fully interactive and highly immersive training centre, where you and your fellow students will use hands-on experiences in true-to-life settings with real-life clinical equipment, state-of-the-art manikin technology (life-like manikins that breathe and speak), and actors serving as simulated patients.
The amazing scenarios are very educational and will allow you to discover first-hand what it’s like to work in the ambulance service and will entail the following:
- Road Accident Scene management
- Managing a child /older person with breathing difficulties
- Knife crime incident
- A Care and Compassion incident
- Ambulance Dispatch.

Work Experience
Not sure about what career path to choose? Worried about what to do when you finish school? Then get some work experience with us via your secondary school or college
We are pleased to advise that we do offer work experience placements for students aged 15+ (Must be year 11 plus) Currently these placements are only available from our Education Simulation Centre based in Newbury, Berkshire.
We have designed our placement to widen your knowledge and understanding of our Trust, this is not an operational station, whilst you may meet some of our Paramedic’s you will not be exposed to any front line duties.
The placement that we have designed showcases the Educational training elements that our staff undergo during their career with us and the technology we use to support this.
We currently offer a week placement this is normally from Monday to Friday and working hours are usually 08.30 – 16.30.
