The Associate Ambulance Practitioner (AAP) is a new role with the Trust. This exciting new role is clinically led, patient focused front line role, which when qualified, will provide care for patients, the delivery of clinical excellence, improve clinical outcomes, whilst ensuring patient safety and a positive patient experience.

We recruit regularly for Trainee AAP's to undertake up this new and exciting opportunity to provide quality care to the patients we serve.

In the training role, successful candidates will be expected to undertake a significant amount of personal study as well as several months in a Trust Education Centre, and supervised training in front line ambulance operations.

Following successful completion of the course, a portfolio, and operational duties, candidates will be awarded an accredited level 4 diploma for AAP. These credits can be used in various Higher Education Intuitions for advancement to Student Paramedic.

Once you complete your training you will be an Associate Ambulance Practitioner (band 4) providing an autonomous clinical role in treating and managing patients across a broad range of emergency, urgent and social care settings. Entry requirements
These are some of the essential criteria you will need to be successful you will need the following (a more detailed and specific criteria are available in the Person Specification for the role):
  • A valid UK full B category driving licence and full C1 category driving licence with no more than 3 penalty points
  • You must have at least 5 GCSEs (or equivalent), including Maths, English and a Science, at grade C or above.
  • Excellent customer/patient-facing experience
  • Good communication skills with an ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Ability to deal with patients and members of the public with dignity and respect
  • Demonstrate a committed to values and principles of public service and health care.
